Time to Celebrate

Congratulations to all HLS athletes on a fantastic season!  HLS ended the season with a fantastic KCAA state race.  See right side of blog for details.  Looking forward to celebrating at tonight's banquet.  Parent's don't forget to turn in your clean XC uniform at the banquet tonight!

Good Luck State Qualifiers / Banquet Sunday!

It's Friday, and we are about to race in to the weekend and cross the season's finish line with much excitement!  The weather couldn't be more perfect for our runners!  Best of luck to our athletes who will be representing HLS at the KCAA State XC Meet in Glasgow, KY on Saturday.

11/5 RACE:

Coach Wigginton will be racing in a marathon in Indianapolis, therefore Jennifer Bippus (Julia's mom) will be picking up the registration packet on behalf of the team at 8:30CST.  If you would like to walk the course, please plan appropriately and take that upon yourselves to do so.  The meet organizers do not have a course map available to distribute prior to the meet, nor do they have one in our registration packet.  Instead, I have been told that the map will be an oversized poster mounted at the course for all to see.  Take a look at it (maybe take a picture of it with your phone) and hit the trail so your child has time to know where they are suppose to go.  It makes ALL the difference in knowing where they are going and how much farther they have to go during the race.

I will be at my daughter's state cross country meet in Lexington.  She runs at almost the exact same time as Ryan.  Ugh!  If you need anything, my phone number is 217-246-4712.  

11/6 BANQUET:

Can't wait to hear all the stories at our banquet on Sunday evening from 5:30-7 at Cooke Hall on the Spring Meadow campus.  Bring your HLS uniform to the banquet.  Please wash it, then place the tank and shorts in a large ziplock bag with your child's name on it.  Katie Nau will be collecting them at the banquet.  Also, don't forget to bring money (cash or check) for our catered BBQ dinner.  $7 for adults & $4 for children.  Yum!  So excited to see everyone and award the runners for a fantastic season!
